What a fun afternoon we had with the students at AUM yesterday! This post is to provide resources to the students who attended that class.
You challenged us with great questions and made the experience thoroughly enjoyable for both of us. As promised: here are the slides we used during the class:
Fall Vegetable Gardening – AUM
View more presentations or Upload your own.
Also, here are some resources to help you get your soil tested at Auburn University to make sure you provide the best growing conditions for your vegetables:
- Start with this two-page publication about soil testing, ANR 6-A – Home Soil Testing: Taking a Sample
- Place your sample in a sealed plastic bag along with this form: Soil Sample Information Form (filled out, of course). If you plan to grow organically, make sure you note that on the form. The form tells you where to send the sample.
- If you really want to sink your teeth into your dirt (did I actually say that?), you can download the 23-page report, The Basis of Soil Testing in Alabama
Have fun, and do let us know when you’re ready to come see us at Longleaf Breeze!
