Podcast #69 – Holding On To Our Orchard for Dear Life

We were excited about the progress clearing for our orchard expansion, but that was before we saw what a massive rainfall can do to loose soil.

Wednesday morning after we recorded the podcast we walked out to see deep rivers cut in our fresh topsoil from the hard rain we got Tuesday night. We’re frightened, but we’re not panicked. We have a plan, and now we just need to work the plan. And after tonight’s snow, we should have several days of warm, sunny weather.

Also: progress on a grow light for starting seed, Lee’s electric blanket bust, our visit with Mallory Kelley, our extension agent, plotting future trails, and developing a new working platform.

Listen – 19:48
