As we adjust to the reality that our nation might actually choose to go over the “fiscal cliff,” Amanda and I ponder the steps we’re taking to make ourselves more resilient and less subject to the money economy.
For us, it’s a process of subsistence, producing more of what we need right here on the farm. We look at the basic human needs of air, water, food, shelter, clothing, and what we loosely call entertainment, and we consider in each case the ways in which we’re working (or not working) to produce them here at home.
